Snoezelen Sensory Centre Not a Snooze for our Students

Level 3 students on the Children’s Play, Learning and Development course at Heart of Worcestershire College were recently invited to Snoezelen Sensory Centre to explore how specialist facilities can help children of all abilities.

The trip began with a talk from staff members, who then put on different interactive activities for the students.

Molly Faulkner, Second Year CPLD student, said:
“Snoezelen was a very beneficial experience for my studies; it not only allowed me to explore how it aids children but also how it aids me as a practitioner. The resources I explored were proven to not just be helpful for SEN children, but also all children for the development of their senses and holistic development as a whole.
I highly recommend students studying Health and Social Care or Early Years courses to visit the centre to see what it has to offer.”

Worcester Snoezelen is a multi-sensory leisure therapy centre for people with disabilities or additional needs. It comprises of 4 multi-sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pool, soft play area, music and arts.
