HoW College gets the “blend” for success just right!
Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) is doing anything but “blending” into the background as it celebrates winning the Highly Commended Award at this year’s Association of Learning Technologists Awards.
The Learning Technologists Awards celebrate and reward excellent practice and outstanding achievement in the learning technology field and promotes intelligent use of Learning Technology on a national scale.
Facing fierce competition from many prestigious universities and higher education institutions HoW College’s ILT team has been recognised for its achievements and work in the Blended Learning Consortium (BLC).
Proving that they have a “blend” for success this award follows the team’s already impressive achievements in 2014/15 being awarded the Association of Colleges (AoC) Beacon Award for the Effective Use of Technology in Further Education and the Times Educational Supplement Award for “Outstanding use of Technology”.
Commenting on the college’s success, Peter Robinson, Assistant Principal, Higher Education and Standards, said:
“HoW College set up the Blended Learning Consortium last August to promote collaboration between colleges in developing and sharing online learning resources. In the last year seventy one colleges, about a quarter of all the FE Colleges in the UK, have joined and over a thousand hours of online learning have been created and shared across the group.
I wish to specifically congratulate the ILT team for the work they are doing for the College in this field, and also all staff for the support they provided in establishing the technical base.”
Heart of Worcestershire College is committed to continuously improving and helping students learn through the effect use of technology.
