College celebrates 200th team!
Staff, students and special guests from Heart of Worcestershire College are celebrating the successful completion of the 200th Prince’s Trust Team Programme and the first team to be delivered in South Birmingham by the College.
To mark the momentous occasion, the 200th team along with fellow students, staff and guests, headed to Villa Park where the students gave presentations detailing the events of the 12 weeks spent on the programme.
Speaking about his time on the Prince’s Trust Team Programme Ellis Spencer, said:
“Being on the Prince’s Trust course has been a great experience and has helped me build my confidence. We’ve covered loads of topics from work experience to CV writing as well as building on various skills on our residential week. I’d definitely recommend the course and I hope that I’ll now use my skills to move on to an apprenticeship.”
Fellow students Bethany Gibbs added:
“The course has been really good and has helped me work towards getting back into college after I dropped out of courses previously. I’m now looking to use the skills I’ve learnt and to start a theatrical make-up course at HoW College.”
Team Leader for Team 200, Carl Bilboe, said:
“This is an exceptional opportunity for the College. We are very proud of what we deliver and the amount of young people we have reached over the years. Moving into South Birmingham will ensure that more young people will be given the opportunities that, potentially, haven’t been available to them in the past. This is the first of many teams Inclusive Learning will be delivering in this area and as a Team Leader it is nice to know that I delivered the first team in South Birmingham”.
