CILEx Professional Diploma in Law and Practice, Level 3
Course overview
The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives' Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice is a one year part-time course intended primarily for those who are employed by a full-time Solicitor in private practice or in a legal department of a local authority. It can also be taken by anyone with a general interest in the law.

Entry requirements
Applicants for this course must have already successfully completed the CILEx Level 3 Certificate.
Course Modules
Client Care Skills:
Requires the preparation of a portfolio of tasks relevant to client care, from preparing attendance notes to further correspondence.

Conveyancing:
An in depth exploration of the background to the conveyancing process in relation to freehold and leasehold residential transactions.

Civil Litigation:
An in depth exploration of the processes and rules governing civil litigation.
How will I be assessed?
All law units are assessed by a one-and-a-half hour examination. Civil Litigation is assessed by a one-and-a-half hour examination based on a case study, which is released to students approximately six weeks ahead of the examination.

On successful completion of the Level 3 Diploma, you can progress to the Level 6 qualifications.
