Calling the shelf life on his catering career proved a wise move for cheeky chappy David Appleton as he placed third in the prestigious junior men’s cut and blow dry competition at the 2015 National Hairdressers’ Federation’s Blackpool International Hairdressing Championship.
David decided to retrain as a barber at HoW College after hanging up his chef whites in favour of the clippers.
Speaking about his time at the College David said:
“My tutor Clare Fanthome has been so supportive throughout the whole process. She encouraged me to enter the competition and gave me the confidence to succeed. I truly believe that you can achieve anything you want to if you’re willing to work hard for it. If I could offer advice to my fellow students it would be to always give every class you attend 100% because it prepares you for the real world and respect your teacher; they want you to make it and they truly believe in you.”
