Award in Indian Head Massage (Part Time)

Course overview

This course is an VTCT NVQ Level 3 Award in Indian head massage and the unit is about the skills involved in providing Indian head massage treatment. The ability to adapt massage
techniques to suit individual client needs and the environment in which the massage takes place are crucial requirements. The ability to perform Indian head massages with and without the use of oils is also required.

Basic equipment is provided for this course.

Entry requirements

Entry onto this qualification is via attainment of a Level 2 qualification in hairdressing or beauty therapy and/or a successful interview.

How will I be assessed?

Indian head practical carrying out 3 practical assessments and 2 external exams set by VTCT.

Assessment is progressive, and unit based with credit being given for skills as they are practiced within Fountains or Fusion. The qualification that is achieved on this course is NVQ level 3 Award in Indian Head massage, which is validated by the awarding body VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust).

What can I do next

At the end of the qualification you can further develop your knowledge and skills by undertaking a technical level qualification in hairdressing or beauty therapy or progress into a career in various contexts such as independent/self-employed/mobile/home-based.
