Course overview

Management accountants play a vital role in managing business opportunities; they inform
the strategy and help secure the future of businesses. This professional accounting qualification is designed to give you a firm foundation for a successful career in accounting and finance. We offer tuition at the operational level across the three pillars of study; The Enterprise, Performance and Financial Pillars. The course is aims to prepare you for the four examinations at the operational level. There are three main subjects at this level and these are all examined. We also offer tuition to prepare you for the operational case study exam. The three main subjects are E1 Organisational Management, P1 Management Accounting and
F1 Financial Reporting and Taxation. CIMA has a powerful global presence and the designation
CGMA that can be applied for on qualification is recognised worldwide. Success will give you a mainstream professional accounting qualification, recognised throughout commercial organisations and the accounting profession.

Entry requirements

AAT Level 4 or equivalent (including a relevant degree). Specific exemptions
must be checked on the CIMA website

What can I do next

Success in the examinations means you will then be able to continue onto the management
level of the CIMA syllabus and ultimately be able to apply for full CIMA membership (subject to
appropriate work experience). CIMA membership equips you with the skills and knowledge to
become a complete finance professional.

Course Modules

E1 Enterprise Operations:
The E1 exam covers several functional areas of business and will introduce you to the economic, social and political context of international business. You will learn about major developments in the field as well as important tools and techniques.
F1 Financial Operations:
The F1 exam focuses on how to prepare full financial statements for a single company and the principal consolidated financial statements for a simple group.
You will also learn about the regulatory and ethical context of financial reporting. This is vital in ensuring financial statements meet users’ needs.
P1 Performance Operations:
The P1 exam focuses on the tools and techniques used for information generation. It will explain how to use this information to evaluate and control present and projected performance.
Operational Level Integrated Case Study:
The CIMA case study exams involve a range of tasks based around the syllabus from the enterprise pillar. The aim is to challenge you to apply what you have learnt to a business environment through a range of practical business related tasks. This is a challenging assessment with a significant focus on exam technique and approach.
